Npfl table

The NPFL table 2026/2027 shows clubs’ league positions alongside their results, goals and points. SPBOSCORES.COM’s table lists 20 teams, with markers for continental qualification and relegation. If you want to understand your club’s position, start with points, then check matches played.

What do the table abbreviations mean?

Those short column headings pack plenty of information into a small space. Here’s how to read the headings used by spboscores.com.

  • Pos: the club’s position.
  • P: matches played.
  • W, D and L: wins, draws and losses.
  • F and A: goals scored and goals conceded.
  • +/-: goal difference — goals scored minus goals conceded.
  • PTS: total points.
  • Form: recent results, shown using W, D and L.

How do points work?

The listed totals reflect three points for a win, one for a draw and none for a defeat. For example, Sporting Lagos had four wins, three draws and two losses: 12 points from wins, plus three from draws, making 15.

But points alone don’t tell you how many matches a club has needed to earn them. That’s why the P column matters.

Why matches played and goal difference matter

Spboscores.com’s table dated 23 October 2026 offers a useful comparison. These are dated positions, not a final league table.

ClubPositionPlayedGoal differencePoints
Rivers United1st9+1117
Enugu Rangers2nd8+517
Sporting Lagos3rd9+215

Rivers United and Enugu Rangers were level on points, but Rangers had played one fewer match. Rivers had scored 13 and conceded two, producing their +11 goal difference. So equal points don’t always mean identical circumstances.

What do form and qualification markers tell you?

Form gives you a quick look at recent results rather than the full season. Spboscores.com also offers overall, home and away views, allowing you to separate a club’s home record from its away performances.

The table’s key identifies CAF Champions League qualification, CAF Confederation Cup qualification and relegation markers. Treat these as position guides, not confirmation that a club has already qualified or gone down.

And don’t confuse form with position: Rivers United’s recent sequence included four draws and one win, yet they still led that dated table. Read recent results alongside total points, not instead of them.
