SPBO Live Score covers football the way fans want it covered: quickly, accurately and without hype. This page explains how we write, check and correct what we publish.

Who writes for us
Every article on the site has a named author, shown at the top of the page with a short bio below it. Our content is written by Bernard Bassey, the site’s founder and editor, and a small team of contributors. You can read more about us on our About page.

What we publish

  • Live scores, fixtures, results and tables: these come automatically from a licensed football data provider and update throughout the day. We don’t edit match data by hand. If a score looks wrong, it is usually corrected at the source within minutes.
  • Articles: news, match previews, analysis and guides, written by our team. These are our own work and opinions, and we keep them clearly separate from the automatic match data.

Accuracy and sources
Before publishing, we check facts such as team news, injuries, transfers and quotes against reliable sources: official club and league channels, the Nigeria Football Federation and NPFL, and established news organisations. When we use information first reported elsewhere, we say where it came from and link to it where possible. We don’t publish rumours as facts. If something is unconfirmed, we say so clearly.

Use of AI tools

We sometimes use AI tools to help with research, outlines or spelling. Every article is written, checked and edited by a named member of our team before it is published, and our editor is responsible for everything that appears on the site.

Corrections
We aim to get things right, but mistakes happen. If you spot an error, tell us through our contact page and include the article link. We review every report. When we correct an important fact, we update the article and add a short note at the end explaining what changed and when. Small fixes such as spelling are made without a note.

Independence and advertising
The site is funded by advertising, including Google AdSense. Advertisers have no influence over what we write, and ads are always clearly marked “Advertisement”.

Occasionally we publish sponsored content. It is always clearly labelled “Sponsored” at the top of the article, and it never appears as our own editorial opinion.

We are not affiliated with any club, league, federation or betting company.

Comments
We welcome discussion, but we remove comments that are abusive, discriminatory, spam or promotional. We don’t edit readers’ comments other than to remove personal information.
