About us

spboscores.com is a football website for fans who want fast live scores, fixtures and results, together with news and analysis. I’m Bernard Bassey. I run SPBO Live Score from Lagos, Nigeria.

I’ve followed football since 2007 with Chelsea FC, first and then everything else: the Premier League on weekends, the Champions League in the week, and the NPFL whenever I could find the scores. That last part was the problem. Most livescore sites were slow on my phone, buried the scores under ads, or didn’t cover Nigerian football properly.

So in 2022 I started SPBO to build the kind of site I wanted to use myself: fast live scores that load quickly on any phone, today’s fixtures with kick-off times in Nigerian time, and real coverage of the NPFL next to the big European leagues.

These days I work with a small team of writers, covering match previews, analysis, NPFL news. If you spot a wrong score or have an idea for the site, we read every message that comes through the contact page.

What we cover

Live scores, kick-off times, results and standings from the competitions listed on our Leagues page, plus original articles: news, match previews, analysis and guides.

Where our data comes from

Match data (scores, fixtures, line-ups and statistics) is supplied by a licensed football data provider and refreshed automatically throughout the day. Articles are written by our editorial team.
